Aspen Acupuncture is unique in our specialty as a blended cash/insurance clinic.
For patients who plan to utilize health insurance, we believe that Insurance is a contract between the patient and their carrier, so it is important that you take responsibility for understanding your benefits. If you have a question or concern with your reimbursement, you will need to contact your insurance company. We cannot be certain if your insurance covers acupuncture care, although most policies do provide coverage. The amount they contribute to your care varies from one policy to another. Some policies may also have a limit of visits that they will cover. The responsibility for payment for our fees lies directly with the patient. It is NOT
the clinic’s responsibility to act as a patient’s agent in negotiating payment from insurance companies or Medicare.
If your insurance is not in contract with our facility, you will still be able to submit your appointment to your insurance company. A receipt will be provided upon request after your appoinment, which you can send to the insurance company you are using. Once approved, they will be able to send a reimbursement directly to you, and provide an expanation of benefits.
Prior to scheduling your appointment, please call your insurance company and verify that you have a plan that covers acupuncture.
1. Provide your insurance with Aspen Acupuncture's name or Dr. Tabitha Olsen-Bergman to verify the provider is in your plans network.
2. Ask if a referral is needed for acupuncture coverage.
3. Check to see if your yearly deductible needs to be before your insurance company will cover your visits. (otherwise, the visits will be billed directly to you at the rate your insurance company determines)
4. Check to see if you have a co-pay or co-insurance for acupuncture treatment. If so plan to pay that amount at each visit.
5. Verify the number of yearly visits you have each year.
6. After your treatment you will receive an E.O.B. (explanation of benefits) from your insurance company that will state the amount due. It is the patient's responsibility to provide payment amount determined by the insurance company in a timely matter.
